Types of Recording.
Their are 4 types of recording in UFT.
1. Default Recording.
2. Analog Recording.
3. Low Level Recording.
4. Insight Recording.
Let's drill out more on the above topics:-
1.Default recording:- Most of the time, we work with this type of recording and this this is the default
Mode of recording for UFT.
Other points to remember for Default recording:-
- Wherever the automation engineer interact with the application it get recorded at object level.
- Application object Identification is based on the properties of object not the position of the application Object.
- It uses the Test Object Model.
2.Analog recording:- This type of recording is useful when UFT is not able to recognize the application objects for ex:- Signatures.
Points to remember:-
- After recording several steps in analog recording UFT generates a single statement, therefore if u want to edit any steps then analog recording won't allow to do this.
- It records exact mouse and keyboard movement in relation to screen or the application window.
- It is useful for steps which cannot be recorded at object level.
- It also recorded every mouse movement.
3.Low level recording:- This type of recording is useful where u want to perform any action at a particular
location of your screen and to achieve this, it uses th X and Y co ordinates of your screen.
Points to remember:-
- This type of recording can only be performed on window based application.
- Useful for objects that is not recognized by UFT.
- Useful for objects where exact co-ordinates are required.
4.Insight recording:- UFT 12.0 has introduces this new type of recording which works based on the image, at the time of recording wherever the automation engineer interacts with the application at that time it saves the image, and at the time of running it searches for the same image which it saved and wherever in the application it find, it perform the necessary operation.
Points to remember:-
- To recognize the object it uses the image.
- Useful for object identification.
